Cruise was General Motors' autonomous-vehicle subsidiary developing robotaxi services in San Francisco and other cities. In December 2024, GM ended Cruise robotaxi funding and refocused the unit on advanced driver assistance for personal vehicles — integrating Cruise engineering into GM's Super Cruise hands-off highway system. getcruise.com now redirects to GM's autonomy roadmap; Cruise became a wholly owned GM subsidiary in February 2025 with significant staff reductions as robotaxi commercial operations ceased.
