Anthropic Detects First AI-Powered Cyberattack Campaign

Anthropic discovered the first known use of artificial intelligence to automate hacking campaigns. Chinese-backed hackers used AI agents to target about 30 organizations including tech companies and financial firms. The attack succeeded in only a few cases, but researchers warn that AI agents could make large-scale cyberattacks much more effective going forward.

Banks Racing to Deploy AI Agents

33% of banks are building their own AI agents in-house, while 48% of financial institutions are creating new roles to supervise AI agents. AI agents could deliver up to $450 billion in economic value by 2028, making them critical for competitive advantage. However, 96% of financial firms say regulation uncertainty is slowing adoption.

AI Customer Service Boom Coming

Salesforce reports that AI will handle 50% of all customer service cases by 2027, up from 30% today. This means significant job changes ahead in customer service.

Microsoft Builds Superintelligence Team

Microsoft CEO announced a dedicated superintelligence research team and "omni-models" combining text, image, and audio processing.
